Who We Are Our Story

Founded by Anya Ekung, a Nigerian model and creative visionary, ALU UNUNG is more than just a fashion brand—It is an expression of the strength, grace, and elegance of women.Inspired by Anya’s Nigerian roots and her passion for modern aesthetics, ALU UNUNG is a blend of tradition and innovation. The name ALU UNUNG draws from the Bekwarra language of Cross River State, Nigeria. Our debut collection, NYE—meaning Woman—pays homage to feminine power and individuality. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to embody boldness, elegance, and uniqueness.

At the heart of ALU UNUNG is a deep commitment to craftsmanship. We collaborate with talented crocheters who bring exceptional artistry to every piece. Our approach is slow, intentional, and focused on creating meaningful fashion. Each garment is designed with precision, ensuring that you not only wear fashion but experience a piece of art.

We know that great fashion matters so we are here to provide you with a fast, hassle-free service of hand-made crochet direct to your door.

Mohair Yarn

Mohair is known for its luxurious softness, sheen and strength; making it a premium choice for elegant design.

Silk Yarn

Silk is derived from the cocoons of silkworms, primarily Bombyx mori, which results to a smooth texture, luster and natural strength.

Polyester/Macramé Yarn

A synthetic fiber made from petroleum-based products created through a chemical reaction involving coal, petroleum, etc The resulting material then spun into strong, durable yarns, often used for macrame projects and sturdy crochet designs.

Wool Yarn

Our wool is obtained from fleece of sheep by shearing the sheep, carding it into fibers and spinning it into yarn. Wool is cherished for its warmth, elasticity and natural insulation properties.
