ALU UNUNG is an artisanal contemporary fashion brand that merges hand-crocheted craftsmanship with modern minimalist aesthetics. Founded by Nigerian model and creative Anya Ekung, the brand was born from a deeply personal journey — one shaped by her environment, life experiences, and the powerful women who’ve influenced her.
More than just clothing, ALU UNUNG is a celebration of womanhood. Through each carefully constructed piece, the brand explores the balance of softness and strength, offering wearable art that speaks to the evolving identity of the modern African woman.
Our debut collection, UNYINYE (meaning “woman”) redefines elegance through intricate crochet techniques, intentional design, and powerful storytelling.

Mohair Yarn
Mohair is known for its luxurious softness, sheen and strength; making it a premium choice for elegant design.
Silk Yarn
Silk is derived from the cocoons of silkworms, primarily Bombyx mori, which results to a smooth texture, luster and natural strength.
Polyester/Macramé Yarn
A synthetic fiber made from petroleum-based products created through a chemical reaction involving coal, petroleum, resulting to strong, durable crochet.
Wool Yarn
Our wool is obtained from fleece of sheep by shearing the sheep, carding it into fibers and spinning it into yarn. It is cherished for its warmth, elasticity and natural insulation properties.
